Kubernetes is complex - Lens brings simplicity to the complexity of Kubernetes. It provides the full situational awareness of everything that runs in Kubernetes. It’s lowering the barrier of entry for people just getting started and radically improving productivity for people with more experience.

The world of Kubernetes is a rapidly evolving space - and thus there is a need to continually adapt and enhance the tools used to manage. The features that Lens includes out-of-the-box are just the start. Lens extensions let you add new features to your installation to support your workflow. The rich extensibility model lets extension authors plug directly into the Lens UI and contribute functionality through the same APIs used by Lens itself.

Your challenge, should you choose to accept it, is to develop a Lens extension that solves a unique problem that you experience in the world of Kubernetes - this may be integration with a specific Kubernetes distribution, workflow automation, integration with other tools, etc - use the world’s leading Kubernetes IDE as the foundation to help solve your unique problems.

Bonus points will be given for building an extension that provides enhanced functionality alongside Mirantis’ other Kubernetes offerings such as Mirantis Container Cloud, Mirantis Kubernetes Engine, or Mirantis Secure Registry.

To get started, go here to download Lens - https://www.mirantis.com/software/lens/ and documentation for Lens can be found here - https://docs.k8slens.dev/main/.

2nd Prize: €500 in cash + Apple HomePod mini or equivalent Apple Gift Card in value

Build an application that connects people via live video streams, video calls, live audio chat, or live podcasting using Agora UIKit!

Agora’s developer-friendly SDK is easy to integrate and offers low latency live voice and video delivery, and data messaging. With Agora UIKit, it’s a breeze to add live voice/video streaming or calling features to any app across mobile, desktop, and web platforms – in a matter of minutes.

For this challenge, the use case is up to you: social media, gaming, education, or even healthcare. We’re looking for features such as online status indicators, with the ability to invite someone to start a call or join a live stream.

Extra points for including a plugin from the Agora Extensions Marketplace: Agora Extensions range from virtual face filters and person segmentation, to background audio noise removal, voice changers, and more!

Entries will be judged by how well you implement and present the best use case using Agora UIKit, with additional points awarded for using one of the available extensions.

Happy Hacking!

LinearB Challenge - Build an app using LinearB best practices (3)

1st Prize: DJI Air 2S - Drone
2nd Prize: Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 (3 pairs to giveaway)
Questions - Contact: ofer@linearb.io

As developers, you know how challenging it can be to build stable, performant applications as quickly as the business demands. It’s especially hard without visibility into how your team works or tools to help you improve. LinearB goes beyond “data-driven insight” and offers an approach to improving dev team collaboration by using automation to eliminate annoying tasks.

Your challenge: While building your DeveloperWeek Hackathon entry apps, use LinearB to drive elite practices across your team.

Here’s how it works:
* Connect LinearB to your Git instance to get metrics. Here’s how
* Turn on Slack/MS Teams alerts to help you stay on track. We’ve got personal as well as team-level alerts.
* Build your app: either one that meets the other sponsors’ criteria or not–whatever you want

That’s it.

The winning team will (in addition to building a cool app):
* Break their work into small chunks (highest ratio of PRs under 300 code changes)
* Code in high quality (lowest Refactor and/or Rework rate)
* Deliver quickest (shortest overall Cycle Time)

Good luck and have fun!

NetFoundry Challenge #1 - Build an application using OpenZiti (2)

1st Prize: $1000.00 in cash + $1000.00 in NetFoundry credits & developer swag
2nd Prize: $500.00 in cash + $500.00 in NetFoundry credits & developer swag
Questions - Contact: marketing@netfoundry.io

Protecting applications is getting more complicated and complex. Apps must attach to networks, exposing them to many risks. We end up focusing our time on implementing features – NOT security. Innovators and builders like yourself can develop secure applications quicker by implementing zero trust directly inside the app.

Take this challenge as an opportunity to create any app from scratch (mobile app, consumer or business web app, etc.) which will come embedded with superpowers simply by incorporating an OpenZiti SDK.

Examples may include …
the possibilities are only limited by your own imagination. Submissions must using OpenZiti, "bonus points" for using SDKs as well as the NetFoundry platform and APIs. Good luck and happy hacking.
